Slovak ATTACK on heating technology

For most of us, home means warmth and comfort. Nobody wants to sit by a drafty window in winter or count every euro spent on heating. That’s why choosing the right heating technology is so important—it determines whether we feel comfortable at home, how much we pay for energy, and what kind of footprint we leave on the environment. In this article, we’ll look not only at how heating has evolved over the centuries, but also introduce you to ATTACK, a company that has become one of the leading players in this field.

Performance, efficiency, and the evolution of heat

The history of heating stretches back as far as human history itself. From primitive fires in caves, where people gathered around open flames, to today’s sophisticated systems run by electronics. Long before electricity or gas grids existed, homes were heated with wood or coal—methods that were inefficient, smoky, and messy.

Over time, more effective solutions emerged: boilers with combustion control, condensing technology, automatic fuel feeders, and eventually heat pumps. Today’s trend is toward hybrid systems that can switch flexibly between multiple sources—for example, biomass and a heat pump—depending on energy prices and outdoor conditions.

Modern technology can adjust output to the exact needs of a home, saving fuel and reducing wear on the equipment. Comfort is also enhanced by sensors and the option to control everything through a mobile app. Whether it’s a gas boiler, a solid-fuel boiler, or a modern heat pump, the goal is the same: steady warmth, lower costs, and greater comfort.

ATTACK – A Slovak story with a European reach

ATTACK, s.r.o. was founded in 1995, starting out with stationary gas boilers. Within just a few years, the company expanded into biomass boilers, pellet boilers, hybrid technologies, and later, heat pumps.

Its production facility is located just outside Žilina, in northern central Slovakia. From the very beginning, ATTACK has made it a priority to keep development, testing, and manufacturing all under one roof. This gives the company full control over quality and the flexibility to react quickly to new trends.

It’s also worth noting that part of the production is powered by the company’s own 430 kWp photovoltaic plant—a clear sign that sustainability is more than just a slogan.

What ATTACK produces and where it ships

Today, ATTACK offers a broad portfolio: gas, electric, and biomass boilers, heat pumps, buffer tanks, hot water storage tanks, and accessories. Their equipment reaches efficiency levels of up to 92% and has earned numerous awards both at home and abroad. So you’ll find solutions for every need — a wood-fired boiler, a reliable solid-fuel boiler, an efficient gas boiler, as well as a modern heat pump for low-energy homes.

Ease of use, reliability, and minimal environmental impact are central to their design. All products are certified under strict standards—ATTACK holds ISO 9001 certification and complies with CE and GOST requirements.

Products bearing the ATTACK logo can now be found in more than 50 countries worldwide—across Europe, the USA, Canada, and even New Zealand. Particularly strong demand comes for their gasification and pellet boilers.

The future of heating

So where is heating headed? The future belongs to multifunctional and smart systems—those that combine different energy sources, use intelligent sensors, integrate with photovoltaics, and adapt to current conditions.ATTACK is already investing in digital controls, mobile apps, performance optimization, and testing new materials. In their development centre, work never stops—they’re constantly innovating, testing, and bringing forward solutions that will stand the test of time.

As part of our Made in Slovakia project, we had the chance to visit ATTACK ourselves. And we have to say—seeing the production process firsthand was an experience in itself. From the very first component to the finished product, every step was proof of precise workmanship and modern technology.

We spoke with technicians and managers who showed us that behind every boiler or heat pump lies not just steel and engineering, but also passion for innovation and an eye for detail.
