Renaissance of woodworking art: st.vol creates design icons from calamitous wood

In the quiet corners of eastern Slovakia, where once only an old barn stood, furniture art flourishes today, carrying the story and soul of centuries-old wood. St.vol, which we recently visited with the Made in Slovakia project, welcomed us into their world, where old and, for some, perhaps unusable wood is given a new lease of life.

Their story began with the dismantling of a barn, piece by piece, board by board, and continues with the creation of unique furniture that is now a beautiful landmark in many homes. The goal of st.vol is to bring furniture to the market that is unique in its distinctive identity and history. The result is solid tables, chairs and other pieces of furniture and decoration, created with a love of craftmanship and respect for the material. The emotion, it always comes!

Thanks to our reportage, we have witnessed how the st.vol team perfectly combines traditional carpentry techniques with the latest technologies, how the calamitous wood is used to create works that are not only beautiful, but also practical and durable. Their commitment to quality and detail is evident in every step - from the selection of the timber to its machining and final coating. Through their approach to creation, they show us how not only the look of a product can be influenced, but also its soul.

Our look into the heart of this company reveals not only passion and expertise, but also an endless desire to create a product that has meaning and a story - what makes a home a home. We're curious to see what new things st.vol will introduce next, wish them every success in the future, and look forward to seeing what other beautiful pieces of furniture they bring into our homes and yours.
